Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Tessa Bell to the Sherwood Christian Academy faculty! Mrs. Bell comes to 1418 with experience teaching both middle and high school students and now serves SCA in several key roles. She teaches 9th grade literature, 10th grade Bible, and 8th grade journalism, and also serves as the 9th grade sponsor. Her energy and enthusiasm bring excitement and creativity to her classes.
In addition to her classroom impact, Mrs. Bell is an incredible addition to our athletics program! This year, she is serving as Varsity Girls Soccer Head Coach and Varsity Girls Basketball Assistant Coach.
We’re thrilled to have Mrs. Bell join the SCA family!

AS A CHILD, WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GREW UP? I have always wanted to be a teacher ever since the 7th grade.
WHY DO YOU THINK CHRISTIAN EDUCATION IS IMPORTANT AND SPECIAL? I think that it is vital for students to be equipped with Christian perspective so that they have a foundation and critical thinking skills in order to discern what is true and false. The influence of culture is strong and having a strong foundation will help fight against it. A Christian education also fosters students to deepen their understanding of God’s character and His divine plan for their life.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MEMORY AT SCA? My favorite SCA Memory so far is the High School Retreat. It was so refreshing to worship, study and discuss the Word of God, and play competitive games with the students.
