SCA Mission Trip: On Mission in Clarkesville, GA

Collaborating alongside Habersham Baptist Associational Missionary, Tony Gray, a mission team from SCA served Camp Hawkins and the community of Habersham County during their spring break, driven by their commitment to spreading the message of Christ’s love.

Made up of 13 students and four adults, the team worked on multiple projects while at Camp Hawkins, a summer camp for children with special needs as a ministry of the Georgia Baptist Children’s Homes and Family Ministries. Students from 3rd grade through 12th grade were represented on the mission team.

The projects included painting, cleaning, and landscaping. This work was completed in the early part of the day while the latter part of the day was spent in Clarkesville, GA canvassing three communities inviting families to summer events including Bible Clubs for kids and the launch of a new church. The mission team walked door to door with the invitations while also interacting and praying with families along the way.

Most exciting, through their efforts to invite community members to the summer events, one of the team members was blessed to share the Gospel and the gentleman accepted Christ there in his front yard!
