Sherwood Christian Academy is pleased to announce Lucy Wright and Luke Bergrab as its valedictorian and salutatorian respectively for the class of 2025.
Valedictorian Lucy Wright is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joel and Amy Wright of Albany. She has attended SCA for six years and is a member of First Presbyterian Church. Some of her achievements include being an honor graduate, headmaster scholar, and a member of the National Honor Society. Wright was awarded the Georgia Certificate of Merit. She has earned the “Scholar Athlete of the Year” award. She earned varsity letters for volleyball (All-Region and All-State), soccer (Team Captain), and cross country. Lucy plans to attend the University of Georgia as a member of the Honors College and major in marketing. She received a full-tuition scholarship.
Salutatorian Luke Bergrab is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jon and Peggy Bergrab of Albany. He has attended SCA for 12 years and is a member of Gillionville Baptist Church. Some of his achievements include being an honor graduate, headmaster scholar, and a member of the National Honor Society. Bergrab was named the 2024-2025 STAR Student. He was awarded the Georgia Certificate of Merit. He participated in SCA’s Film Club where he directed, wrote, edited and produced several short films. Bergrab was a member of SCA’s chess team for four years where they placed State Runner-Up this year. He served on the school’s chapel worship team and band. He earned a varsity letter in cross country (All-Region) and soccer. He served as Student Council Class Treasurer in 10th, 11th, and 12th grades. Luke plans to attend Georgia College and State University as a member of the Honors College with the Vera Lucille Vincent scholarship providing full tuition. He plans to major in mass communications.
Sherwood Christian Academy will hold its 36th commencement exercises for the class of 2025 at Sherwood Baptist Church on Friday, May 16, at 7 p.m. Filmmaker and author, Alex Kendrick, of Albany, will deliver the commencement address to the graduates.
