The Mascot

The mascot at SCA is an eagle. Taken from Isaiah 40:31 "but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." That verse captures the attitude we wanted to instill in our athelets, to rely on the Lord for their ability and strength. In 2012 a competition was held for the elementary school to name the mascot. The final name chosen was Victor E. Eagle.  Tryouts for the mascot position are held at the beginning of every school year, and consist of someone who is trustworthy and willing – usually from the 7th or 8th grade.

The Colors

The school colors today are dominatly red and white with an accent of royal blue. In the past they were a more consistent mixture of red, white and blue, but the push to drop the blue majority was made in 2010.

The Student Section

The Screaming Eagles student section was named in 2012.  The front section of the stadium was designated the student section so as to bring unity and a collective voice of encouragement to the players. During basketball season the section is located in the third bleacher section directly beside the cheerleaders. The student section at basketball games have even taken to dressing up in a chosen theme for important games.

The Fight Song

The fight song was composed by Stephen Hand in 2012 at the request of our current headmaster, Dr. Brian Dougherty.
