As the eagles, our mascot for SCA is Victory Eagle taken from Isaiah 40:31, "but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." That verse captures the attitude we wanted to instill in our athletes--to rely on the Lord for their ability and strength. Callout for the mascot position are held at the beginning of each school year, and consist of someone who is trustworthy and willing to serve to promote school spirit on the sidelines.
The primary school colors are red and white with an accent of royal blue.
Senior Athlete Awards
Each year near graduation, one male and one female senior student-athlete receives the prestigious Senior Athlete Award. The award is given to the students who have invested themselves into the athletic program throughout their high school years and have made the greatest impact on our overall athletic program. A grid of objective criteria is used to identify the winners including, among others, all region and all state selections, most valuable player awards, kingdom athlete awards, individual school records set, and college scholarship offers received.
The name of the student section is called the Screaming Eagles. The front section of the football stadium is designated the student section to bring unity and a collective voice of encouragement to the players. During basketball season, the student section is located at the far end of the gym. Usually during weekend games, the students will call for a theme night and everyone dresses in theme attire.
During Spirit Week, elementary students buy spirit links to promote school spirit and class unity leading up to the Homecoming Football game. Money raised is used to enhance the elementary PE program. Each grade level drapes their spirit links chain across the football field before the game. The elementary grade with the longest spirit link chain wins a week of no written homework!
SCA Fight Song
The SCA Fight Song was composed by Mr. Stephen Hand in 2012.
Fight on, O mighty Eagles, fight and win today;
Fight on, O mighty Eagles, giving God the praise;
Fight on, O mighty Eagles, faithfully we play;
Fight and win, fight on for SCA!
